That's better - or what a difference 20mm can make.

Finally got round to following the recommendation to drop the forks of
the Shiver through the yokes by 20mm (four calibration rings on the
legs). A 50 mile bimble confirms that it has sharpened up the handling
significantly and reduced the feeling that it wants to run wide coming
out of slow bends. TBF, switching to a pair of my favoured Michelin
Pilot Power 2CT tyres has also improved confidence. Camera vans out this
morning as I suspected, though fortunately only one on my route in the
    expected location.

The Givi soft pannier supports also fitted on a treat. A little more
dismantling required (loosen rack and rear light unit) than I expected
to get access to one mounting point, but they coexist with the
Akropovics OK so I'm all set for the Pahnd Island trip.

Ah, indeed. This caused confusion on the euromoto list when the matter
was discussed. You know what I meant. Interestingly, Fabio, the Italian
Shiver owner, that said it worked well for him, used the same incorrect
terminology when he suggested it. It also has had the benefit of
lowering the seat by a gnat's cock.

Lots of people do, which resulted in a highly comical moment on the
Tiger list once when somebody took it literally.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a few people out there riding
around with the top of the forks held perilously in place by the bottom
few mm of the top clamp.

  5. Interesting..... the VFR forums recommend doing this on mine, haven't
got around to it yet though I must admit.
