Today while I was waiting to turn right at the lights a police Pan
coming towards me turned left a little too quick and ended up on it's
side. No-one was injured, except perhaps the pride of the breakdown
driver who was transporting it and had not tied it down on his lorry
as securely as he should have...

You know the ones, they're red at the top, amber in the middle and
    green at the bottom.

There's one up the road from me with 75 lights on one pole.

And they say that drivers are being bombarded with too much info when

There's a junction a couple of miles from Pixie-Central where there are
at least 20 signs and other bits of roadside furniture in a 100 metre
stretch of road. It looks very confusing at night on high beam.

    Ahhh, the penny has dropped.

Mind you, they were talking about this in the Jan issue of Bike. It's
not too bad in France, BUT what is bad, is the amount of roadside
    billboards.

Electronic billbaords are taking off too, unfortunately (There's one on
the La Defense ringroad). Now fair enough, when the traffic's at a
standstill, it's not a problem, but there are enough numpties on the
road that really don't need any more encouragement to be distracted...

They need one of those for the thelwall viaduct roadworks. Everything
repeated 3 times, on both sides of the carriageway. And now they've
got "Opening 20th December!" in a diagonal splash across some of them,
as though it's some sort of theatre show or new shopping centre.

On a slightly different note, I like the signs on the new motorway
information signs - "This sign not in use." Now, which one do they
    mean?
