  5. Well, congratulations!

    I do hope you've gained a son-in-law rather than a daughter-in-law - 'cause
if it's the latter, I _know_ you'll make her life a misery ("no woman will
ever be good enough for my son" is a phrase embedded in women's brains).

Don't forget either way that "mother-in-law" is an anagram of "woman
Hitler," so be sure to live up to the title! :p

Heh heh, I like it! (although my own mother-in-law - well, mother-OUT-law really) has always been fabulous. No Hitler role-model for me... So far it's all smooth sailing, and it's been a whole 4 days! :) Mrs Boomerang Boy & I get on very well.

I'm in no hurry to be Grandma Betty, though...

The urge to breed may be hard-wired into our DNA.

In fact I often say that non-platonic love is just a manifestation of
the mating instinct encoded into our DNA. That's usually when SWMBO
gets really really pissed off with me. (I really shouldn't be with
anyone who would have me as a partner... ;-)

Hang on, I'm just counting on my fingers. Mid-twenties x two, plus a

We had our three quite early and were done when I was 27. They had all
left home when we were in our mid-forties. They all started later than
we did and we now have seven grandchildren. One has completed high
school this year and one has just turned one.

My wife has a magnet on the fridge which says "If I'd know
grandchildren were so much fun, I'd have had them first."

    Enjoy the grandchild Betty.

    I must have defective DNA.

I thought guys didn't have this urge to breed, they only had an urge
to have sex and it the females with that damn urge and they
blackmailed us with it, and we're too weak, dammit, weak!

Sprog are bad. All of the worlds problems exist because of sprog.

(still not going to be a daddy, yet, thankfuck)

  12. That's precisely what the urge to breed is. The fact that you've used your
greatly evolved grey matter to prevent the otherwise-inevitable consequences
of extensive copulation is the only reason you're not a father.
I've found that only younger females have a need to reproduce. Older
females, thankfully, just have a need to f*$k ;-)

  13. My motto has always been: I don't want to have kids, I just like
practicing. But I don't want to get it right.
