Girlfriend's mate cam round pissed last night, booted my helmet of its
nice comfy seat and send it a few feet acroos the floor.

No visible damage, paintwork looks less shiny than before though :(

Still, I am paranoid and would like to get it checked out. I heard a
rumour that Arai offers an x-ray service. Is this an urban myth? If
not, anyone know anywhere in London?

    Many thanks...

X-ray service... heh... urban myth according to a mate. What tends to
happen from what I've heard, is that someone rubs the paint off a bit,
then looks carefully for broken fibre strands with a magnifing glass.

  4. Champ has certainly sent a couple off to Arai to have them checked.
but as he's just gorn to Chamonix he'll likely answer this in ten days
    time.

no doubt with a reference to how he has been in Chamonix...

Isn't that something you use to dry a car with?

As long as he doesn't post, every time he has a shit, like a certain
poster once did, it should be fine...

Your mate talks bollocks. They use ultrasound to check them. That way
they can tell if the liner is compressed as well.

That's interesting, and the sort of thing _I'd_ have thought they would
do to check dropped lids, but what do I know? Hmm.. that puts things in
a new light, as he works in the bike clothing / lids sort of area too.
Either he was spinning me a yarn, or he genuinly didn't know.

For some reason he seems to think that ukrm is populated by people that
can't back up what they say online... but won't say who or why when
pressed for an answer. Peeps like yourself, and a very many other people
here can and do backup what they say, so.... who knows what happened eh?

I did consider him a friend, but am slightly disturbed by the whole "I
think they are cunts, but I'm not telling you why" sort of thing.

I've made friends on here, that I'd gladly help out at any time, in any
way I can [1].... so in a way, I'm a little offended by his attitude.

    [1]No I don't tiuta. :)

Fer chrissakes take it apart and have a look! It's a fibreglass shell
around a drinks cup, and more to the point, assembled by a Chinese
    peasant. Hi-Tech it isn't.
