Even though I've seen that before, it did raise a smile. I attempted
the job of removing, cleaning contacts and replacing the ventilation fan
on the SOC as it had a habit of cutting out when I needed it the most
    [1].

I will never, ever, ever remove a part that has a reinstallation comment
similar to "be careful to align the terminals with the contacts". I
must've spent the best part of an hour and a half removing, realigning,
refitting and checking to find the fan still wasn't working.

[1] whenever it was asked to blow hot air at the windscreen.

I'm trying hard to manage an outburst here.

    Here we go...

I counted Bear as a friend. A flawed one true enough but a friend none
the less. He was excessive here on occasion and did set himself up for
the sort of treatment he got. I'm not trying to or intending to justify
or apologise for his behaviour because frankly it's nothing to do with
    me.

    However he's gone now.

So why the constant harping on? Why can't people just let it drop and
    move on?

Every five fucking minutes some **** posts something about "Bear isn't
about then" and we have the inevitable discussions; it's very tedious.

I don't give a **** about what people say or think about Bear; it's none
of my business. I do however think it's very bad form to slag someone
off behind their back consistently (of course now people will find all
of my posts slagging off former posters...).

    And relax.

Breathe out the bad, breathe in the good.

It was a one line quip, get a grip.
Anyway, I only found out Bear had made a threat against Darsy and Legged
it the other day, and as one of those he used to have a go at, I'm
enjoying sticking in my 2d TVM :)

Yeah, it's not like Bear ever did that is it? Lol.

A one-line quip from you. Add all the other quips and it's a veritable
    torrent.
I'm sure you are; fine if he was here, tedious and pointless when he's
    not.
But we're not dicusssing Bear's behaviour, are we?

    Possibly because;
    1. It was a joke (which I found funny)
    2. UKRM takes the piss out of anything and anyone, here or not, alive or
    dead.
    3. You don't appear to have a SOH today?
    4. If the piss taking of Bear is "constant" doesn't that tell you
something about the majority of people opinions of Bear?
See the light! Feel the love! Amen!

Now why would *lots* of people on this NG enjoy taking a Pop at Bear?
    Hmmm?
Oh he'll be trawling the threads later I assure you.

No, this threads about Haynes manuals isn't it?

You might not want to, but plenty of others are. Until they stop, avert
your eyes, or mark the relevant thread limbs IGNORE

Yebbut we can still take the piss out of him right?

As long as we don't slag him off?

Because he pissed lots of people off by being overbearing and inclined
    to bully? Your point is?
I'm not convinced. I don't think he could trawl and not respond. I
know in his position I couldn't.
    That's a very good point.
Hey, it's a free NG. If you're free to subvert a topic to slag off Bear
then I'm equally free to call you a bore for doing it.

I think the one line quip implying that Bear talks Hot Air was too short to
    be boring really.

However you going on at length about how Bear should'nt have the piss taken
out of him behind his back afterwards is.

Ah, thanks for telling me what ukrm does.
Well this isn't a reason for the constant harping on, but possibly for
    my reaction.

Oh, that much is clear and I understand why. I just don't understand
what the constant snide remarks are meant to achieve.

You can do what the **** you like.
More importantly as long as it's original and amusing. I'd settle for
    amusing.

Kinda depends who'son the recieving end doesn't it? Bear is an arch
hypocrite when it comes to being happy to dish it out, but being unable
to take it back. Everyone knows this. Why you are trying to defend the
    indefensible is beyond me.

One mans joke is another mans snide remark, the majority in this case
however, seem to think it was a joke.

Get over it and move on. (As you seem so fond of saying to others)

Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, tallbloke
It was fucking tedious when you and Bear spent days tweaking each others
    noses when he was posting.

It hasn't become any less so now he's gone.

In fairness, you're at least consistent[1], unlike those who have popped
    up again since he left.

    [1] If dull.
