Does anyone have the link? We're having a serious thunderstorm at the mo.
In uk.rec.motorcycles, platypus belched forth and ejected the following: I don't suppose a link to a Luftwaffe site would help? l-)
No, but the main man in artificial lightning is Greg Leyh seriously into high voltages - I've just read a six month old new scientist article about him
Gone quiet now, apart from the rain. There were hailstones lashing down when the power went out, about 20 mins ago.
I wrote one myself ... http://lightning.elyob.com/ It downloads the data when someone requests. Don't think I did the "every minute for 15 minute" bit, but I enjoyed playing.
Nope, but I'm rather proud of this photo that I took a few years ago, left it on the windowsill with the shutter open. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g195/dwbrown/Misc Stuff/10250002.jpg
summat like this? http://441creative.com/weather/stormvue/ or this? http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/weather/light.htm
If you feel the need to check out the whole of Europe (or individual countries) then this is the best: http://www.blitzortung.de/index.php?mode=0&map=9&lang=e
Bad form and all that, but I just pissed "and am pissed" around with the code. Should all be working now. Bit of a long wait whilst it downloads the data. Plenty I could do with it, but I'm not that bothered to make it all singing and dancing. (Spatial databases, map bounding etc). Good enough ain't it?
Strange, seems to work fine in the latest IE & Firefox here. Oh well, it is work in progress. (i.e. forgotten and works well enough for me). Google maps timeouts huge time, hence the mention of using spatial databases. Does this time out for you as well? (http://cycle.elyob.com/) Cheers
