That BOSM thing we do every year (A gentle reminder)

    We still do it.

I've cut and pasted copy of my original post for those who
haven't a clue what the BOSM is about.

In my position of long-standing DFV, it is my pleasure to invite you all
to attend the world famous UKRM Begining of Summer Meet.

All are welcome as we meet yet again to celebrate, surprisingly
enough, the begining of summer 2005.

Dates are given below for those too thick to read a calendar.

Much frolicking, hopefully plenty of nudity, drinking and eating of fine
food served by Mike and Mu, the hosts and the gorgeous waitresses (and
the 'camp' lad who is supposedly not gay). Bollocks will be talked,
people will be embarrassed, but unfortunately it looks like Blaney will
not be there to make an arse of himself by trying to explain
astronomical matters. Food will be served at dinner time, and breakfast
will also be available. I will be using the tried and tested ticket
system to ensure that everyone pays their way. We're trying to convince
Robbo not to **** up another raffle too.

All rooms at the inn are booked and have been for some time (I'm in Room
1 again ladies, form an orderly queue outside the door and keep the
noise down this time please), but there are B+Bs locally that may have
some rooms if needed. If camping is your thing, then there is a small
garden outside that has room for at least 20 tents if they are erected
sensibly. No doubt Sunday will herald yet another CIHAGM fest, in which
ukrmers will thrash each others bikes and then post derogatory comments
about them. After 2003 comments were made by villagers about the
wheelies past the pub, so point bikes out of the 30 limit before lifting
the front wheel this time please :)

If you intend to come along and have dinner and/or breakfast, then
please email me at so I can inform Mu how many
will require feeding. Those who have already replied need not do so
    again.

Lets see some more of you newbies and lurkers there this time OK?

Date: April 9th, 10th 2005. Arrive any time after lunch on Saturday.

    Venue:

    The Black Horse Inn,
    Hulland Ward,
    Derbyshire.
    DE6 3EE

    Phone: 01335 370206

    Streetmap url : http://tinyurl.com/8oyo

DO NOT FORGET: email me at if you're coming along,
with what days you'll be wanting breakfast and dinner.

    Hope to see you there.

Is there a field or hill or big bits of stuff off-road close by that we
could use ? Thinking I might bring a Beamish Suzuki trials bike along, but
it's not road legal ... see who can **** up best, maybe .. ;)

Hmm, I'm not sure that's entertainment, but it might be more interesting
    than the 'raffle'.

You know you want to. I mean, do it often enough and you are going to
    get it right eventually.

  10. Maybe we could do a BOSMiNYC this year? There's 2 of us resident here,
2 more have been here recently(-ish)[1], there's bound to be a few more
folk who fancy a quick blat (hah!) across the Atlantic...

Weather's lovely...24F today, could be as warm as 31F tomorrow...just
right for the beginning of summer!

[1] OK, so 4 does not exactly make a newsgroup, but what the heck...

will they actually let me into the damned country!
That's very warm for NYC at this time of year.

I'm seriously going to try and make either the EOSM or the Snet 24.
