gurgled happily, sounding much like they were
    saying:
Umm, he pleaded guilty. No evidence was produced in court, cross-examined
or otherwise tested. For all we know, it would have been thrown out
    within minutes.

They wouldn't have prosecuted him in the first place if the police didn't
know he was guilty. What further proof do you need?

Justice has to be seen to be done. They even let the public in to watch.

    Of course.
Public opinion trumps legislation - just so long as it's convenient to
    the government.

**** me, do you really believe that or are you trolling? The Police
CPS will always try for the best[1] charge. They can always later on
or in court reduce it if the chances look dodgy[2]. In this instance
numbnuts put his hands up to dangerous so the police evidence or lack
    of it was never tested.
Does it bollocks, it just needs a copper twisting the facts, poor
advice and the green crayon brigade.
Silly me, they've got evidence and film etc which they decided to keep
hidden - well for what fucking reason would that be?

    [1] From their POV, obviously
[2] As am example I received a NIP or whatever it was called then
following my going through a red light[3] that was stuck on fucking
red. Initially it was for, the red light, speeding, failing to stop
etc. Eventually I got a letter from the Police telling me to behave in
    future.
[3] Just my luck the road that had been empty for 10 minutes then had
    a cop car.

    Thanks for that.

    A line 'wavelength' = 3 + 6 = 9m and (taking measurements from two
PSP-captured frames) he travelled 6.5 wavelengths (or 193 feet) in 13
    and 22/50ths minus 12 and16/50ths seconds, which is 1 and 6/50ths or
    1.12 seconds.

    His speed was therefore (193 x 3600)/(1.12 x 5280) = 117 mph.

The evidence would have been used, uncontested, to determine sentencing.
He would have had the chance to speak in mitigation. We do not know his
reasons for pleading guilty but it is most likely that he considered the
evidence against him to be strong and that a guilty plea would buy him
a reduced sentence. Maybe a good lawyer could have done a better job,
    maybe not.

I refer your lawyer to article 1 of the Alabama statute of humin rightes[1].

Although, if she is female and can assure me that article 6[2] also applies
I may be willing to negotiate a settlement with her.

Sounds like they are taking a reasonable approach by questioning the
    severity of the sentence.

Plus, of course, Lozzo would be endlessly useful to have in the fold (as it
were) for the numerous little bike fettling jobs that I always have, whereas
you and Champ are ... differently abled, shall we say.
