Well there're a lot of "if's, but's" and maybe's" in the judges thinking.

Ok, he was speeding, but he wasn't involved in an accident of any sort, so
they trot out the possible consequences of what "could" have happened "if"
he'd fallen off and his bike had become a "missile" causing the "death" of
    some unknown imaginary friend.

He managed to get round the bend without leaning the bike too. Well not very
    much.

First time I took my son on the back of the bike I came home to an
absolutely livid wife. She had been down to the police station
demanding that I be stopped. They had told her that if my son could
reach the foot rests and was wearing a helmet that it was perfectly legal.

He's currently employed on Manchesters first classic rock radio station.
Breakfast slot, so fortunately I don't get to hear much of him.

You can get him on he web though :)

It's taken Lisa a little while to get comfortable with me taking Em on the
bike. We started off with very short trips - mainly the school run[1] - and
then worked up to longer journeys, getting her fully kitted on the way.

Must be said, now that she's learned not to adjust position when we're doing
roundabouts, she's a great little pillion.

[1] She's already said that when she starts middle school in September Lisa
can't take her in the car, but I can still take her on the bike.

I heard him on Radio 2 today.

He came across as a bit of a knob, then a total knob when he addressed
the woman he was sparring with as "luv", although that bit did make me
    laugh out loud.

The bit I listened to (about 10 mins) was very Daily Mail, and the
members of the motorcycling fraternity who called in really did come
across as a bunch of twats.

In what way? The small bits of video being shown on the news earlier
today didn't look dodgy to me. He didn't crash, he didn't appear (to
me) to be out of control.

I nearly lost Jennifer off the back of my 9R on the way to a Platyfest
but that was her own fault for taking her hands off the grab rails at
130mph. She got a bit tearful and very shouty but soon forgot about it
when Champ upset her later in the evening.

The police evidence for speeding is dodgy so I think they conned him
into accepting a DD confession ("Come on sir, sign this and we'll
let you of the speeding charge. Thirty day ban max").

If you look at the camera footage it gives an error code before it
flashes 122mph. He clearly isn't doing twice the speed of the oncoming
traffic, nor is he leaning over far enough in the bend. At the end of
the clip a small white hatch enters the shot which must of been doing
well over a hundred for the bike's measured speed to be accurate.

Sent text messages to her boyfriend and pretended they were from her.

The words "Jennifer's out front going postal on your bike" had you
sprinting round the front of the house as fast as I've ever seen
    anybody run.

    Do you remember now?

Some would disagree, but double the speed limit on a wet road would seem
to qualify. The peelers who actually saw what happened seemed to think
so and threw the book at him.
