But we *had* to go on Dans little adventure tour. It wasn't too bad
and it's hardly my fault if the majority of riders felt obliged to pay
the peage fee for a car at an unmanned exit rather than go along the
one true route and not pay at all.
"I've got enough fuel to get to Calais."

"Please keep the speed down a bit or I might not make Calais."

The words may not be correct but the context is.

Obviously good bait but wrong person taking it. Verdigris was the one
who asked that we kept the speed under 90mph after we'd stopped for a
smoke break and he started feeling that his tigger tank might not be
    as big as he needed.

We didn't hang around at the filling station but we'd agreed to stop
after a while at another rest point for a smoke and to wait and see if
the missing riders appeared. After a while we decided they were
wankers and miles behind so we set off at a slightly slower pace.

They caught us as we paid up at the toll booths and at that point we
decided it was time for a spot of piss taking and smoking before
setting off for Calais. Your boat was still in the dock but they
    wouldn't let us on. Cunts.

My life would have been a misery if I'd gassed it and caught the
earlier boat, especially when you consider I didn't have a working
phone and couldn't tell Adie she'd been left in France because she was
on a slow bike and it wasn't my problem if she's loaned her 9R to
    Bear.

You probably assumed I'd caught the previous boat, what with me being
    quicker than you.

Don't panic Champ, I think the fucker's got a hyperspace drive on it [1]...
    he passed us too

[1] I think I may have just caught it on my way back into the car park
    whilst earning my IBB No.

We filled up at one of these in le Cateau. Two pumps and a cafe.

but now they almost all seem to have gone over to
    A PITA for sure.

You know it's been a good weekend when you go to settle the bar bill
and the blonde behind the counter brings the bill up on the screen and
takes a very audible deep intake of breath.

    Indeed - ta for organising.

I'm also so glad that I can apparently provide so many opportunities
for amusement to so many people ;-)

Discovered the issue with the alarm was that battery had worked itself
loose in the key fob - easy to fix in the end.

I had the same thought last week, when the Blckbird got to 117 miles
before the light came on. Normal service is 100-105.

No idea why it'd improved so much.

I thought the food was better this time, compared to last.

OTOH, went to a Beefeater in Cambridge last night. Could I have some
bread with my starter? Only if sir orders it as an item from the On
the Side part of the menu - "Rustic Bread with Butter" at 85p. Twats.

Indeed she can. Now I think about it, that might be part of the reason
for _my_ bill... I never can resist buying champagne for a lady.

Must have been catching, whatever it was. My light hadn't come on yet
at 200km, but I needed to stop anyway, and it took 13.8l, giving
41mpg. In my case, however, it was almost certainly the hangover wot
    done it.

Then again, 50km of that was the blat back from Vouzier the day
before, so it's actually pretty impressive.

  18. Following Dodger, on the return trip, I was happy to trundle along at
80mph or so, in the belief that the Trophy would use less fuel.

On the hoon out I'd got about 32mpg.

On the trundle back I got exactly the same.

**** knows what it does with petrol. It's the thirstiest bike I've ever
owned, apart from my old H1 triple.

Hah. €22 @ 1.37 per litre is umm 3.53 gallons for 122 miles.

    34.54 mpg.

Must be a weight thing. :)
