Thanks for another well organised weekend. You really need to try
harder with the weather but that was only a minor flaw.

Much entertainment was had as usual and it's been so long since I
actually put some miles on the bike that even riding in the wet was
fun. I could try and list highlights but as usual I can't be arsed so
    I'll leave that to others.

  2. What he said plus; I think we need to award UBT numbers for those that
have been 10'd. The resulting beetroot red face and thousand yard stare
was a joy to behold :)

Thanks TOG, a very enjoyable weekend. I do appreciate the the DFV
efforts made by you good self. All I have to do is pay. A big thanks.

Seconded, thanks for all the effort TOG, I really enjoyed it.

Further thanks go to Kevin & Linda Weller who gave me the run of their
wonderful home the night before the ferry... especially Linda who got the
grillpan out at 11:00 pm to make bacon sandwiches washed down with beer, no
wonder Kevin proposed to her )

Rode the blingmobile on Saturday, utmost respect to Nigel for riding that
anywhere, although it's another one chalked off )

Other than that I rode just over a thousand miles in 3 days and put another
40 miles wear on the front tyre )

    Cheers for the weekend everyone

Agreed, thanks for a great weekend Neil. One of the highlights was
Friday night's entertainment provided by yourself and WUN.

Arrived home at about 21:30, journey was quite pleasant until 4 miles
from home when it decided to rain,.

Also Neil thanks again to yourself and Anne for providing crash space
plus food & drink on the Thursday night.

  5. And thank you for letting me loose on your 10R. why is that whenever I
CIHAGM? bikes on French Runs, I'm always dressed in slacks, sweater,
shoes and no riding gear at all?

    That bike is fucking insane.

Was very amusing to watch. After seeing several people, including TOG,
exhibit the above reactions, I was slightly underwhelmed by it myself.
Very nice indeed, you understand, not too cramped, a bit more tendency
to lift the front at about 9k in 3rd, but not really massively
different from the gixxer in any way. Nice fruity exhaust note, mind.

OTOH I was massively impressed by the blingmobile. Lovely engine, with
a fair turn of speed for such a lard-arse, but there is _definitely_
something wrong in the frame/steering department. I understand it
recently had new steering head bearings installed; not wishing to
impugn WUN's reputation, but I'd like to know _where_ he installed
them, 'cos it sure as **** wasn't enywhere near the steering head...

I liked his comment "the engine's a bit warm" when he noticed the fan
was still on five minutes after I got back ;-)

  8. Whaaat? The engine is one of the (innumerable) crap things about the
    bike.

Smooth and sounds nice, but not really very powerful, not much torque,
undergeared, and if you want to take it above a ton you have to rev the
    **** out of it.

I'd like to add my thanks to TOG as well - 2nd Sedan run for me and
enjoyed it even more despite the revolting weather.

Thanks to everyone who helped me push start the sprint to get it onto
the ferry, push start in the slippery shit to get off the ferry at
Calais and those nice people at Mad Moto in Cambrai who were both open
at 6pm on a Friday night and had the right battery in stock.

Good to meet so many of you again (for only the 2nd time) - you're a
    nice cunch of bunts.

It seemed nice to me, I just revved the **** out of it and there was
ample power. Oh, I see what you mean. But just red-lining[1] it in the
first three gears got me to about 150kph, IIRC, in only a short-ish
    time.

Put it another way, there's more than enough power for the rest of the
    bike.

[1] Well, I hadn't worked out where the rev-counter was, so I just
    revved it 'quite a lot'.

An elastic band provides more than enough power for the rest of the
    bike.

Is that the same elastic band that connects the steering?

  13. Heh. Yes, exactly.

It wasn't just me, then. Only the tacho on Bonwick's 10R was harder to
    read.

There's something connecting the steering? Besides hope and prayers, I
    mean.

Replace "tinyness" and "light weight" with appropriate antonyms and
that'll be me on the blingmobile.

And Bonwick is a very bad man. Fucking off and leaving me the keys to
his 10R, he knows perfectly well the only thing I can't resist is
    temptation.

Oh you twat. How'd you menage to do that then? Simple pocket operation
    failure, was it?
No fucking chance, I'd have thought. Unless you could show you'd just
withdrawn a big wad immediately before you lost it. In any event,
they'd probably insist on a Ploice report, which I presume you
    wouldn't have bothered with.
