Tori and I had a brilliant day, was nice to meet up with old mates and have a ball. Apart from the first session, after which I was bumped down to novice group[1], the weather was glorious and the track was dry all the way round. Mine and Tori's tyres are looking decidedly second-hand and we're already thinking of planning another one. Where next - you decide? Our ride home was horrendous. The traffic was backed up on the A14 5 miles from Kettering and we were filtering through torrential downpours for about 75 miles, me with tailpack and tent etc, Tori with throwovers. That made filtering a little tricky. At Mildenhall I decided we had to stop and calm down, the road was under 5 or 6 inches of standing water, so we pulled into a Little Thief to dry off and grab some food and drink. We eventually made it to Mundesley in north Norfolk at about 9pm. Today I am getting a price on an a new rear brake pedal for Tori's Bandit after her little incident at the hairpin. [1] Apparently I was holding people up coming out of corners on the first session, which was in pouring rain. Bearing in mind I had the shittiest, slowest bike on the track with sports/touring tyres I didn't think I was doing so bad, but I have to admit I felt comfier in with the Novices.
