Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, flashgorman
Do you really think so? I'd have filed it under "Someone had to do it,
and I'm glad it wasn't me".

  3. Figure I heard was that 5 kiddies and/or wrinklies get killed/roasted
every year because of overly hot water.

    Five?

    I mean, ffs, five?

And because of this, thermostatic mixer taps are a must-fit on all new
builds and conversions. What the **** ever happened to commone sense?
They'll be putting mixer taps on gixxers.

  10. This was a bath with an immobile old guy. The water was too cold so the
nurse turned the hot tap on, just a little, to warm it up then got
called away on an emergency and he was forgotten.

The old part of the hospital mid 90s it was in the Kent Gazette plus I
knew[1] one of the nurses who treated him in East Grinstead.

    'Snot a combi-boiler, or a power shower.

It's a big tank in the airing cupboard, full of hot water, at mains
    pressure.

Ah, prolly one of those 'we were on a list to be upgraded' type of
    things.

It does, we had one installed at my folks home and it’s bloody
marvellous, we even got in one of those gas boilers that eat their own
fumes and are so efficient the light steam it vents is only mildly warm,
plus on full tilt you can run back to back baths in three bath rooms
without ever running out of hot water and of course the pressure is
    always matched.

    It weren’t cheep tho
