Yeah, I got had on my last visit by a cop coming the other way on a long straight bit of highway miles from any habitation. Everything I've heard about Oz cops and speed enforcement makes me think they're cunts. 100km/h limit in the middle of nowhere is daft.
AOL(ish) after 500+kms I was just 20km from Port Augusta on a totally straight, totally empty, road when the Commodore V8 going the other bloody way stuck his lights on, exectued a U-turn behind me and pulled me over for 128km/h. On the upside he *did* advise me to avoid the southern side of PA when looking for somewhere cheap to stay because it was "shitty". And then he was off. Before I'd got my earplugs, helmet and gloves back on he was chasing down a road train going the other way, lights and sirens on...... Dave
**** me; sensible judges. What on earth caused that? Sneaky Safety Nazis strike again. Those underhanded fuckwits don't believe in letting people exercise personal responsibility. It's utterly stupid having such laughable limits on those kinds of roads - all it does is make the law look like an arse.
