    The short version?

The red linkage rods are connected from the bars to a sort of UJ which moves
the wheel in a similar arc to that of telescopic forks, but it separates the
steering forces from the suspension thus, in principle, making the whole
    thing better...

In practice, however, the original Tesi was found to be very very stiff when
new and, once bedded in, the joints worked brilliantly for about 10 miles
    then went too sloppy..

My boss has an original Tesi in his collection, it sits over the room
from one of Joey Dunlop's old TT SP1s in Vimto colours.

Thanks! I Googled the Tesi and saw a couple of pictures that showed that
linkage a little more clearly. Gotta admit when I saw the OP's picture I
had to look at it for a moment to figure out which was front and which was
rear. That exhaust configuration must have benefits, too, which escape me
with only casual inspection and minimal thought. The whole concept kind of
    grows on you, though.

    Doh!

So one doen't have to wear knickers and knee-socks?

Actually, the Morini site has a better view of the mechanism. I'm warming
up to that design. Is that original Morini?
