    Same company, iirc.
And they own the "O'Neill" surf brand too.

I've no issues using the bus to get _into_ town if I'm going drinking,
it's faster and more reliable than phoning for a taxi.

The rest of the time I'll use my car, or a taxi, mind.

But that is not what it is all about. B&Bs are fine, I have used them lots
bit I always feel I am in another persons house [1]. Camping allows more
freedom. I admit to using an airbed these days though due to one to many
    contacts with tarmac.

The fact it is cheaper is nice tho' and when there are 2 of you the cost
    saving is greater.

[1] I am , but you know what I mean

I can't remember whereabouts you live but the only tent to buy if you can
find it in your area is a Khyam, they sell direct too. They are
    unsurpassable.

These are the ones with jointed poles which remain in situ. Up and guyed in
under 2 mins with practice. About 5 minutes to break down and re-pack. Like
some others I've got the small touring tent which comes in around the £100
mark, sleeps 3. I also have the big 6 man tent, also excellent.

Argos, Millets etc A dome tent should be cheap enough and light enough etc.
We got a well cheap one (£25 or so)from somewhere that I can't remember
about 5 years ago and it's sold as being two man. It is barely long enough
for me (6ft tall) if I sleep diagonally across it and it's only single skin
so you get loads of condensation on the inside in wet weather so your hair
gets wet. Try and get one with an inner tent if poss. But you probably know
    all this.

Not that I know of, but I don't really have a great deal to do with the
    P/Way gangs.

There are other persons involved in protecting the gangers. One must be
nominated as 'COSS' (Controller of Site Safety). He's the gangs
supervisor and all safety messages/instructions go through him. No one
does anything without his say so. I think.

    Anyway....

What's the difference between a dog and a platelayer?

A dog doesn't bend your air pipes and couplings.

    What's a platelayer?

Is this related to that accident a few weeks ago?

How do you prevent your bike from tipping over when parked in a campsite?

The last time I parked a bike on turf I broke the blummin' clutch lever :-/

    lever :-/

Presuming you mean when it's on soft ground, stick a squashed
drinks can or jar lid[1] under the side stand.

[1] I find a Branston pickle jar lid works fine.

    Yeah, on squidgy ground.
Cheers (and to Des), I didn't realise that something so small would suffice.
I'd been trying to figure out ways of collapsing something small yet strong
enough that would fold out and go under the centre stand, prolly cos the
last bike I had go over on soggy ground was parked on the centre stand at
the time... oi did I feel like a disgruntled muppet or what :-/

(It was easy to fix, but the ride to the shop to buy a new one came under
the heading of <Johnny Rotten> No Fun At All </JR>)

No, just an old 'joke' told me many years ago by the usual bitter and
