But nylon, or it's more up to date equivalents is hardly primitive,
    now is it? ;)

It's not hypothermia I have trouble with, it's the whole idea of not having
your own proper potty, with flushing water and stuff. I was brought up
proper; you only poo in your own potty, or at least your own hotel room's
    potty.

Worryingly, Madame has expressed an interest in camping and assures me that
her pants are small enough to be kept in packets of 20 under her seat, so I
    wont have to carry much.

What I can't work out is where she is going to put the 3cwt of slap and hair
    straighteners she carries around?

You appear to have a sig. You appear to be missing a sig separator,
    however.
    What's a flavout, mister?

It was funny. The first time.

In the last tenty thread a few weeks ago, when Platy used it.

    It was funny _then_.

  7. Perzactly one night for one person, if you're lucky outside of a town.
I am off to Ireland in the beginning of summer and so far B&B for
those nights I need it is looking about 40 euro PP.

  9. No, it was funny when some camping shop (Blacks?) used it years ago.

Last week must have been a ginger tent.

Buses are taxis for those who don't mind sharing them with the old or
criminally insane, don't mind not being /exactly/ sure the route it's
taking, or don't mind it not going where they want it.

Trains, however, are for people who enjoying stopping, mysteriously in
the middle of nowhere, and looking at the scenery. Or at a fridge that's
    been thrown down the embankment.

Arse! Trying to set up news on Outlook Express (joy of 'upgrading'). Sig
    sep should be ok now.

'flavout' is a known issue with my wetware when I get flustered with tryping
    propplerrly.

However, I have decided to register as trademark - just need a suitable
    product now...

I got an Outbound 3 person tent from the market in the centre of
Birmingham[1]. 35 notes. Only been used twice, but no problems with it at
all. Packs down to about 2 1/2 feet long and 9 inches round.

[1] Sort of in a giant underground hall next to the old Bullring centre.

I like travelling by bus. And I hate taxis and taxi drivers - even
though in theory I can afford to use them (taxis that is).

Most anything from a pukka outdoors shop like Blacks or Cotswold Outdoor.
See above. The smaller you want it to pack down, the more you'll pay. I
bought mine about 10 years ago; it's got c/f poles and a plain, ordinary
nylon outer but has served me well in that time.

It berths three snugly or a Wik and one other occupant comfortably.
    :)

It packs down to about 2ft long by 8" round and cost about £75 all that
    time ago.

When I was toying with the idea of a replacement a year or so ago, a
smilar thing was still about the same money but packed down smaller and
    lighter.

Go to the extreme end of the scale and you can pay £300+ quid for a single
man that packs down into a fag-packet -- okay, /slight/ exaggeration on
    the size front!
    :)
    I should bloody hope so!

The Greek metro in Athens is pretty swish. Only about three years old
and very spacious, modern, cheap (70 cents for a ticket that gives you
1h30 of travel time, more than enough to get from one side of Athens
    to the other), etc, etc.
