Aha, I wondered if it was yours. Only a slight lack of money, space and time prevents me from bidding. Actually, space isn't a problem for a SOO, but it would have to live outside and yours doesn't look that shite.
You misunderstand me. Not sentimental attachment (although perhaps a touch). Just don't want it to be won by some chancer who doesn't really want it, thinks they have paid over the odds, and doesn't follow through. I had this once with a set of alloy wheels and tyres (car). In fact, I am still in touch with the new owner of the only bike I have sold on Ebay so far. A really nice guy as it turned out. -- +-----------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Moto Guzzi Mille GT/Squire RS3 Gilera Nordwest | | Gilera GFR Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-----------------------------------------------------------------+
Not a single bid. DIGAF? Surprisingly - No. I realised the timing wasn't ideal for me anyway. Their loss. BTW did some UKRMer go to the trouble of registering on Ebay china just to send me a windup question for seller? -- +-----------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Moto Guzzi Mille GT/Squire RS3 Gilera Nordwest | | Gilera GFR Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-----------------------------------------------------------------+
This is something I don't understand about ebay. Since it's a blind proxy bidding process, if everyone just bid the most they were prepared to pay as soon as they saw the auction, there'd be no need to wait until the last second. Or am I missing something?
*sigh* because lots of active bidding gets people enthusiastic and drives prices up, is why. Also one is never quite sure what one is prepared to pay until the end! I use www.esnipe.co.uk which can sometimes get end of auction bids in late enough to bork the system and the next levels of incremental bidding don't get through. Then again I am usually buying stuff other people don't want.
Well yes, there's human nature and everything. Anyway, it was in no way intended as a criticism since I sometimes wait till the last minute myself (and then pay more than originally intended). But if everyone thought about it logically...
