A mate over here has a, currently uninsured, Triumph Tiger he wants to
ride back to the UK to sell. It's on UK plates so he needs to get UK
insurance, but has so far failed to find anyone that will insure it
for just a couple of days (or weeks, even) and include european cover.

Anyone any ideas where this may be available?

Blimey man, Google is your friend, use 'short term car insurance'.

    Here are just two.

However, you might want to check the possibility of getting an annual
policy on a pay monthly scheme, then cancel it after the period required
(You just stop the payments, and send in the certificate). That might be
    cheaper.

Ok, just substitute the appropriate word then. FWIW, it still came up
    with the same list.
Is he planning to buy another bike? If so, why not just insure for a
year, and transfer over when he gets the new bike. Just a thought.

  6. NU did it for me a couple of times but that was years ago and I had to
go into a local office in person for it to happen. Even though I only
needed a couple of days cover the min charge is for a week, iirc.

Thanks for this, and to the other who replied. I passed them all on to
said colleague who's now sorted out a month's cover with ebike for
just 12 quid. Happy, he is. Owes you all a beer, but I'll drink 'em
for you if you can't get here to claim them ;-)

Heh. Decent ale is always welcome. Still got a couple what Colin & Pat
brought over t'other weekend. And this time it was all intact, rather
than having one Marston's Pedigree soaked pannier like last time they
    visited.
Oh aye, there are some pretty decent ones. My normal home tipple is a
Kronenbourg brew, with the sub-brand 'Alsace', at aound 5.5% abv.
Costs about 50p a 75ml bottle, including the deposit on the bottle.

For a stronger palate, there's a very nice one called 'Mützig Old
Lager' brewed not too far from here, which is a whacking 6.9% but
tastes like it's about 5%. Often found, for some reason, in French ski
resorts, and is great for getting the holidaying brits falling-over
drunk in very short order when they insist on drinking the stuff by
    the pint.
