Not done this one before, but with "around a hundred road race bikes
    from the 30's to the 90's" I reckon it's worth a visit. 12th-13th Feb
    at Telford International Centre.

Indeed and just up the road for me. It'll have to be the Saturday for me
though as I'm heading off to 'the chateau' on the Sunday morning.

OK, I may have the lad in tow if there is any chance of more modern MX
type stuff or tool porn to ogle at.

  5. Wotcha.
We had the Desmo BSA on show there a couple of years back.
I don't think the bike will make it this year, but I just might try and limp
around for an hour or two.

Shit - will be Morris dancing in Cheltenham that weekend.

Champ - this is an early warning of the annual cultural low point in
    Cheltenham - The Folk Festival

    Good call.

I'm sure Mark would lend him his MT500 if he wanted to go.

It's certainly been trying. We're two weeks from the off and nobody
has everything completely sorted out yet.

Colour me not surprised. It can't be easy, coming up with a scheme to
carry one's entire wardrobe, a 9,000 tog sleeping bag and a blast
    furnace on each bike.

I'm aiming to be loading everything into the panniers today and taking
the bike down a few bumpy little back roads to see how it handles.
This could still end in tears before I even get out of Bedfordshire.

    Hmm.

Slow, creeping, almost imperceptible loss of sensation to toes and
ears, worsening and accelerating with time and exacerbated when
sleeping as the circulation slows and body temperature drops.

Yes, I see your point - they're almost indistinguishable as means of
suicide. Fairly painless, though - if you go while asleep.

He'd be better off with a sidecar.

There's plenty of them around - and you know where they are. That day
honking round Harrold on the RF still lives with me, especially that
awful nadgery, gravelly, climbing right-hander that didn't look to have
an adverse camber but it bloody did. We nearly lost Mups there, too.
That was the day when I learned when you get down the side of the bike
mid-corner and I start catching you up really fast, it is probably
beyond the brakes to save me.
You'll run out of suspension travel before you run out of roads.

You'd think so but nobody with a sidecar seems willing to come along.

My guess is he runs out of subframe.

That would affect the rear suspension travel, no?
