And on Easter Monday, Casey Stoner was resurrected and rose to his
    rightful place...

Phew, thank goodness for that! Let the television viewing season begin!
(Should be interesting now that my son has moved back home. He likes Rossi,
I like Stoner - fun times ahead!)

    Thanks for the info Clem!

As one of the great underclass of Foxless people (the ONLY telly I watch is
motoGP - not worth forking out for Fox when a couple of hours fortnightly
for a few months of the year is the only TV viewing I do) I have spent the
last couple of winters setting my alarm, going to bed mega-early, watching
the late night/early morning race on free to air, then heading back to bed
and trying to go back to sleep before I have to get up for work. It's become
a routine that I quite enjoy, even though it's a bit weird (not to mention
    COLD) here in Canberra!

Last season my son used to send me text messages during the race in the
middle of the bloody night - this year we can watch the races together, heh
heh! (Actually, his messages last year were quite handy. If my alarm went
off and I didn't get up, an SMS saying "R U watching? GO ROSSI!" from Steve
would get me out of bed and running for the TV.)

  10. 9am - 11am Monday on Ch 10. Best turn your clock radio off because
there's bound to be a spoiler.

Could be worse. Ch 9 could be televising the bloody races on a delayed
telecast. They used to show the races on sunday night, after the news,
and during the news *without warning* they'd give the results of the
race they were just about to show. *boggle* And if that wasn't bad
enough, they had Darryl Eastlake commentating.

[shudder] Those were the dark times.....
Sometimes you need to know where the bottom is so you can know which way is
    up....
    (At least we had Bazza).

    Yeah, the arseholes.

We were hoping to turn the teev on at work and to watch it before going home, if
they were to televise the MotoGP race live. But some stupid, overly boring and
largely irrelevant golf match is on.

SO much for the "freeview" flexibility of the twenty million channels that it's
    promising the punters....

I got the missus to set the Mystar (Austar PVR) to record it. I'll watch the
race when I get home in a few hours' time.

    From the MotoGP site

Due to adverse weather conditions, the MotoGP race at the Commercial bank
Grand Prix of Qatar has been postponed.

Following discussions between FIM, IRTA, Dorna and the QMMF, a proposal was
put to the MotoGP teams to run the race tomorrow evening. Thanks to a huge
effort from all parties concerned, and out of respect to fans of motorsport
around the world, it has been decided that the race will take place on
    Monday 13th April, 2009.

The warm-up will run at 6.30pm local time (GMT+3), with the race scheduled
    to start at 9pm.

FIM Road-racing Commission President, Mr. Claude Danis stated, "For safety
reasons it was not possible to race in the night due to the reflection of
the lights on the track. This decision had already been taken a few years
ago when we first decided to run a night race in Qatar. On behalf of the FIM
I am very happy that we could postpone the race until tomorrow. It is
important for the championship, especially at the first race, and I would
like to thank Dorna, QMMF, IRTA and the MotoGP teams for helping reach this
    decision together."

Dorna Sports CEO, Mr. Carmelo Ezpeleta added, "After the arrival of a large
storm we had to cancel the race as it was unsafe. The QMMF offered us the
choice to run the race tomorrow, and as it was a very important decision we
wanted to consult with all the team managers. The postponement was accepted
by a large majority. This has been an extraordinary decision in
    extraordinary circumstances."

Hopefully Foxtel will pickup and schedule the telecast.
