My 14 yr old nephew has a field bike, an old mid 80s KE125.

His dad has ripped out all the electrics in an attempt to make it a
simple kick start and go type bike, with no ignition switch. Has anyone
got a simple wiring diagram I can use to rewire the thing, cos his
dad's pissed off and left him to do it alone?

My knowledge of bike electrics isn't that great.

  2. I have a genuine factory manual for the old (1970s) KH125, which used
the same engine. I can't see that the wiring is going to be different.

I'm off to Colombie tomorrow, but if you get a snail mail addie to me,
I'll ask The Doctor to pop it in the post on Monday, as long as it gets
    popped back once used.

Alternatively, just hand it to me this afternoon and the spic can pick
it up from here or I can drop it off at PixieCentral in the next couple
    of weeks...

    says.

    The Older Gentleman says...
I have access to a proper KE125 wiring diagram, I can use that. Thanks
    for the offer though.

What I'm after is a simplified diagram so we can run this thing sans
lights/indicators/horn/ignition switch etc. At the moment there is no
wiring at all cos my dickhead bruv-in-law has chucked the old wiring
loom out. My knowledge of rewiring bikes is minimal and I do get a bit
confused with what bits are needed and what aren't. I'm not so bad at
diagnosing and repairing electical faults though.

    Piece of piss.

From what you have said, all you need to do is add a cut out switch.
    Easy, honest.

  8. Is it a simple magneto&coil/points like my old Suzi A100II?
    IIRC it goes something like:

    Coil
    / ------------------\/----->
    \ /\----->Spark
    / \
    \ Magneto coil |------------
    / \/Points = Condenser
    \------------------^-------------

I've not got that exactly right (can't remember which bits
actually connect to ground) but you should see how those few pieces fit
together in the original diagram. Kill button just shorts out the points
(i.e. normally-open switch in parallel with the points and the condenser,
often just the one wire from the "hot" side which is shorted to the
    handlebar (=ground) by the switch).

    Rocket science it ain't.

Lozzo came up with the following;:
    http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/frames.cfm?man=ka&groupid=5330&parent=5240

    Might help, though it's for a KE100.

Indeed, the website http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/getdesc.cfm?man=ka with ya
for Yamaha, su for Suzuki and guess what for Honda at the end of the url
might help anyone wiith a diagram or two.

Hope it helps someone ... ;)

Sir wants a TS185/250, sir does.

Simply pull off all the loom, except for the two-core cable from the
magneto to the CDI box, two wires to the coil, and an HT lead to the
    plug.

  13. Looks like the B15 model has CDI with the capacitor charged up via
high-voltage coils in the flywheel, so that's a wee bit different to the
    magneto models.
