Felling, actually being or just wanting to make sure it happens.
I kinda thought the sentiment behind Jackie's idea was that the folk
involved are friends of a lot of other folk here. When a round is on
it's a good excuse to ride out, congregate, spectate and drink beer.

Have you ever visited any of the rounds and spent a bit of time in the

  4. Yes I do.
I just think they've got particular key skills and a level of knowledge
that allows them to earn that money in an apparently effortless manner.
That is a complete guess though so your "clever skiving bastard" theory
may actually be closer to the truth ;-)
Well you definitely earn more than me then if you're paying for them
    all.

ok I give up- I do understand peoples sentiments that at the end of
the day it's someones hobby, however as Paul pointed out it's not
    compulsory.

Never mind, just thought it was a nice idea.

TBH, I've no idea what you get paid.
I rarely eat out at lunchtime. Mostly just a sandwich or something from
    Eat.

I suspect you get slightly more than me - mebbe between 5 and 10k.
    However, I don't have London housing/property costs, so I reckon I'm
    ahead.

oh, even without London weighting, you'd be ahead[0] - you don't have a
high-maintenance burd[0.9] and two[1] teenage boys to support.

TBH though, I don't think property in "London" is as over-priced
compared to the rest of the country in any case, at least when you
count places like where I live as "London". What's the average price
for a 4 bedroom semi round your way?

[0] If you get paid what I think you get paid, then I'm about 10K
    ahead, yes.
[0.9] to be fair, despite only working part time, she does bring about
2.2K nett into the monthly household budget.
[1] in one case, only nearly 12, but certainly acts like a teenager.

Yeah but my comment was only aimed at TOG y'see. Bit of bike press
coverage and all that. It would make a nice series of articles IMHO and
might put a few pennies in the coffer.
