Teaching "A Design For Living Should Always Have A Sound, Firm,Logical Foundation" 12-29-82

This Teaching says,
" It is good to think about each day, as a day that
will be successful, have more hope, but most times it
is up to the individual to restrain emotions so that
weakness will not show or cause disaster. It is good
and also necessary for one to be charitable, because in
the act of charity one may be able to ward off temptation
that would arise if things were different."

"A DESIGN FOR LIVING SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE
A SOUND, FIRM, LOGICAL FOUNDATION"

"As you design the tightrope you walk in your
daily life, what material have you put into this
tightrope - cotton thread, a stringy wool, cording, hemp?
Will the tightrope last through the day without
breakage? Have you evenly coordinated the consistency
of its content? Have you chosen a material that will
be strong enough to endure your mistakes of anger, your
weaknesses, your selfishness, your needs, your
compromises, your possessions, your possessiveness, your
hopes, your dreams?

Remember that the tightrope each man walks each
day consists of more than material matter. It consists
of one's Faith in God, one's desire to please God, one's
obedience to The Ten Commandments, one's ability to
reject temptation, one's sound values, one's sound
standards, one's habits, one's example to others, one's
manner of speech, one's self-care. A multitude of things
could be added to this list making up the tightrope of
daily living.

It is good to think about each day, as a day that

A tightrope is not something we think about in
our daily living, but it is always there because at the
end of the day, we must report to God in how we walked
it, how we lived it, how strong we were against the
odds, the weakness, the turmoil, the hurts, and we must
also add to this, how we served Him in our example
and in our Christian Faith as He intended it to be.

A tightrope in itself is difficult to walk. It is
always dangerous, but a tightrope that is made of strong
fiber, sound character, perseverance in keeping it taut,
straight, gives stability to its very existence, but do not
forget, there is flexibility in a tightrope, always because
the flexibility properly done, helps the one on the
tightrope have more balance crossing it."
