Tapping while running

    I have a yamaha virago, it's an old 84, 700cc been running great, but
    when it's idling i notice that i can hear a ticking in the engine. I
    was just wondering if that's my valves ticking as they pop up and
    down, or if i should be concerned about something else. If it is my
    valves should i have them reseated right away? I'm not too concerned
    at the moment, but thought i'd get some input, so thanks!
