    With cherries on top.
I'm looking forward to the new generation of multi cylinder turbo diesel
bikes, that is, if they ever become a reality. People like Vauxhall are
making great advances in small capacity ones, so there is hope.

Silly boy. You use the electricity to raise steam in a microwave boiler
and use that for the motive power.

Yes, I forgot about that. Didn't someone build a racing car using that
hybrid power system? I know Volvo built a car that managed about 50mpg
    on a gas turbine engine.

    I found a hybrid bike here, http://www.ecycle.com/powersports/hybrid.htm
    , not bad specs. 180mpg, 80mph, 6 second 0 - 60mph and it weighs 105kg.

It spins on magnetic bearings in a vacuum, and has magnets embedded in
it. Around the flywheel, are arranged coils of wire. Works the same as a
    generator / induction motor unit.

Or rather those are the target specs for when they build it.

Cool. How heavy does it at what revs does it need to be to store a
    worthwhile amount of energy

Back in January I was involved in replacing the plant which keeps one of
those huge inflatable tennis domes inflated.

Part of the outgoing kit was a German diesel back up motor, manufactured by
Hatz (who are a good make, I believe).

Although it was a big old lump, I could have had it away.

    But like a twat I didn't.

If I had, I would now be thinking about installing it in the TS50.

I was thinking more of frame sag.
You'll be needing some uprated suspension too.

    And a bandit respro. ;-)

Nah, nothing wrong with a bit of frame flex :)

**** that, I would brace it with a length or 2 of 41x41 unistrut
Ditto, replace monoshock with suitably hacksawed length of god's own
meccano, reduce pressure in tyres and voila, who needs suspension..
    What's one of them?

Ahh, I often see cycling twats in London wearing those.

That'll create a bit of gyroscope effect on the steering then.
