Tall order satnav?

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by the man with no idea, Mar 22, 2007.

  1. Is it possible to get a decent satnav kit that I could swap between 2
c*rs and a bike for - wait for it - less than 200 notes? Legally.

    Shame about the budget.

I fancy selling my Road Angel Classic along with my Garmin iQue M5 and
    buying one of these instead

FWIW I just bought the TomTom Europe for £195 a couple of weeks ago. It
does what it says on the packet and I'm pretty pleased with it. [1]

The bike one is £50 more I think.

[1] 'U Turn' Jane maybe bossier than SWMBO - but at least she can't
    answer back.

Have a look around - you could get Garmin 2610s for that kind of cash
recently. BGN of this parish got one with that deal. I'm using my 2610
both on bikes and in cars and it's been working fine for me.

  6. Aldi had an Evesham model a week or two back; your local store (if
you have one) may still have leftovers in stock. I got a Navman PiN570 for
£100 at Halford's at Christmas -- TBH I use the PDA more than the GPS but
then I don't travel by private transport.

The kit they supply is RAM, and there should be something in the RAM
catalogue to do what you want to do...

The tidiest one I'm using is http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/ram-b-272.htm
on the Z750, with one of the handlebar clamp bolts

  12. That seems a v good price, other places are still selling for a lot
    more.
The also do the i3 with bike mount for £100 but there's no mention of
    it being waterproof.
    Cheers, I'll have a look.
