  1. Is Medal Boots still in business? I heard somewhere only open a couple of
    days a week?

  2. I was down there a couple of months ago and the business was still
operating, although from the back lane, not from the old shop.
There was a sign outside saying the hours of business, but even though, when
I was there was supposedly the time when he should have been open.
Story I got was that Tony's son didn't want to continue the shoe business
and Tony is only doing it to keep himself from falling over the edge.
He is a nice bloke, I have known him for 40 years, although that will be not
taken as a recommendation, I have never in that time, heard him raise his
    voice in anger.

  3. I will have to take a visit up there to see him before he closes down
    completely.
But, the last pair of boots I bought from him, which I still wear, cost me
    $28.

  5. Damn, have I been out of circulation for that long??
I heard , not long ago, that his prices went up to $180, I thought of a new
pair then, but all the uppers in my boots are still as good as when he made
them, only the soles and heels have been changed to protect the innocent.
