Reminds me .. I had just bought a new GoldWing in '84.. About ten of the
guys decided to run the west Texas country and we wound up in Del Rio late
in the afternoon.. Damn.. what a run we had made.. Something like 700 miles
that day.. There was something going on in Del Rio and you couldn't "buy" a
room anywhere.. We wound up in a BAD part of town and found a fleabag with
some rooms.. We checked in and got concerned about the bikes being left
unguarded.. My room was on the second floor with an outside walkway.. The
stairwell at the back was one of those two tiered deals that went up halfway
, with a landing and turned to go to the floor.. Got that picture.. Well.. I
looked it over real good and decided the Wing would make it.. Being full of
Cuervo and coldbeer, looked easy.. Believe it or not, I got that Wing up
there.. Couple of the hands helped me but we put my new Wing right outside
my window and locked her down.. Kinda crashed and about two hours into the
nap, someone knocked on my door.. There was a little Nehru looking guy with
a BIG one with him.. Well.. the little guy told me I had to move that damn
motorcycle to the parking lot.. I looked the BIG one over pretty good and
decided to not get all worked up, under the circumstances, so I just told
him I was too damn drunk and would move it in the morning.. NO NO.. it had
to be moved NOW.. So I just handed him the keys and said OK, bud... Take 'er
down for me then and Thanks.. That dude squirmed and wiggled for a few
minutes and decided Mornin' would be just fine... Next morning that puppy
was harder to get down than I remembered it being going up...

This could be a good thread.

What is the strangest place you have ever ridden or directly witnessed
    a motorcycle being ridden?

Bill has three up on us:

1 - harley wedged in the door of a hotel room
2 - gold wing up a flight of stairs to be parked outside a 2nd floor
    room
3 - his vulcan inside of Wilhoits.

Got one more for you.. Me and a few of the guys had been running the hill
country on a long weekend .. I don't know why, but we wound up in Kerrville
about 2 in the morning when it occurred to someone to stop for a while.. The
Holiday Inn had an empty parking lot so we rolled into their driveway.. The
little deskguy was really snotty and told us he didn't have a vacancy with
one eye rolled over at the bikes and one eye lookin' our scruffy selves
over.. I explained to him how tired we all were and desperate for some
rest.. Not impressed he finally told us it was the policy not to rent rooms
to bikers.. Well hell.. the little prick was downright rude.. I told one of
the bud's to hold the door for me and I cranked that puppy up and headed
inside to just spend the night in the lobby.. since he didn't have any rooms
with an empty parking lot.. Hey .. that ol' kid found us five rooms so quick
it was amazing.. Didn't have to spend the night in the lobby, after all....

Doh! Mine is so mild as to not even hardly worth mentioning. In high school
I ran my old bike across the covered walkway between the school and the
gym...during a class change...up a couple dozen steps and down the other
side. Nobody even turned me in.

  5. hmm, well, i've ridden a bike into a frat house party with live band and
bar and crowd in full swing, but i can't say that's strange, that's damn
near exptected if not required. life magazine would have been pleased.

too wasted to think of much else right now, lemme try in the morning.....

That is pretty tame. You need to spice the story up and say you rode
it on TOP of the walkway, and you were naked.
