How do I do it? I've seen the guys in the workshops do it whilst
changing the front tyres, but I can't remember how they did it.

Vas scribbled on the back of a napkin:
    (1) Get the front of the bike off the ground.
    (2) Take out wheel.

    Where's the problem?

If you can't just look at it and fathom it out for yourself then you
    shouldn't be attempting the job.

Start undoing and removing all nuts and bolts in the general area of the
front end of the bike and eventually the front wheel will fall out of its
    own accord.

    First things first, Mr. Deferens.

How do you intend to support the front end of your mighty motorcycle
once the wheel isn't there to do it?

The problem is, does the spindle unscrew like a long bolt, or is it
just the pinch bolts holding it in place?

If you can't give me a sensible answer, then don't fucking bother. Stop
trying to be a smart arse.

The problem is, the spindle is not moving with the pinch bolts undone.
With these undone, does it just slide out or do I have to unscrew it
    first.

  11. How do I do it? I've seen the guys in the workshops do it whilst
Assuming it's the same as my 12,

    1) Remove both brake calipers and the spedo cable guide.
    2) Undo pinch bolts on the throttle side. Leave the ones on the clutch
    side done up.
    3) Using a large hex key undo the spindle from the throttle side.
    4) Hold wheel and remove spindle.

If you don't have a hex key large enough to unscrew the spindle you can
do it from the clutch side and drift the spindle out. (Having undone
the pinch bolts after removing the clutch side hex nut but before
    drifting spindle out)

  13. They undid the wheel nut(s).

Is it really that hard to figure out? If you can't even work out how to
remove a wheel, I suggest that you don't touch it.

I expect this kind of talk off 16 year olds, trying to be smart arses.
If you want to be childish carry on.

I asked a simple question, and hoped to get a simple answer (thanks to
RobK). I'm obviously in the wrong place to get sensible answers.

How do people learn if you don't ask.

I'd say the sensible answers were the ones suggesting you leave it to
someone who knows what they're doing. But anyway, if you're going to be
putting it all back together yourself, ffs make sure you test the front
brake properly before riding off anywhere. It's very easy to do
something daft like sliding a disk in between the pistons & pad rather
than between the pads themselves. Doing that could leave you very dead.

In order to try and calm this down a little, I'll explain a little
    more on why I posted.

Firstly, I can work a newsreader, unfortunatley I have only got access
to this usenet group through Google.

Secondly, I had tried to take off the wheel already, but with both
pinch bolts off, the spindle was still not unscrewing. My thought was,
"have I missed something here?" I wrote my original question in a
hurry. Maybe I should have taken more time to say what I had tried
already. Maybe I should have refraised my question a little more,
    maybe.

I do not warrant the fucking abuse by a bunch of small minded
aresholes, who think they're funny by hurling sarcastic comments. You
sound like a bunch of teenagers trying to show off to each other. Grow
    up!

When someone asks a question, how about a little bit of courtesy, no
different to a nod or a wave when you pass another biker on the road.

you do to stir them up.
