.... from a Peugot 205 which tore the pannier off my Pan (bought a month
ago). But thanks to teh bikers who stopped whlie I was waiting for the
    recovery man.

The question is: how do I make sure I don't pay for any repairs? Are
Carole Nash good at making sure of these things?

Witnesses are good. Don't go for any "Let me know how much and I'll pay for
it, don't need to involve the insurance" bullshit. The last time I had
someone run into a pannier, I ended up in hospital.

  3. Claim directly off the insurance of the third party - notify CN that
you have had an accident and they you will NOT be claiming from them.
That's all you need to do - don't involve them anymore than that.

It's an epidemic... I know it won't seem it, but lucky it was just the
    pannier.

Claim direct off the third party ins co. If they won't play ball, use legal
    assistance.

I really wouldn't claim anything off your ins co.
