Just looked out at the car, and see the roof has a film of ice on it.

Could be fun in the morning.

That'll teach you for living in the north. My heating's still only on for an
    hour a day.

My heating's not on at all.

Then again, my system needs filling after I hacked through two pipes in
the bathroom that were in the way (intentionally because they were made
out of trueweld and there was no-fucking-way I wanted that shite encased
    in concrete).

I *might* put my heating on for December.

Having said that I've bought a couple of small oil-filled radiators
which are used for maybe 3 hours a day- got to be cheaper than running
CH and heating 8 rooms or so for 4-6 hours a day.

Don't you have TRVs on the rads, and can't you turn them down to frost
setting in the rooms where they're not required ?

Had a frost in Mid-Bedfordshire last night too - solid ice-type frost
on car screens at 03:00, gone by 07:00. My windows were iced over
again tonight (I've just got home).
May be, but with a following wind and a bit of late cloud cover, it
could be a frost of two halves.

Yes. But these rooms are used most days so heating's required at some
    point in the day.

Loads of frost on the car this morning at 5:00am when I started my weekly
migration southwards. The roads seemed fairly clear of ice and frost.

    It was dull.

Nonsense. I'm still using my summer gloves.

Mind, looking at the weather forecast for this week, I might have to
think about entertaining the possibility of using my winter ones. By
December, I might even go as far as actually putting them on.

DO you sleep in a tent Andy? its all nice and warm here in Whitley Bay.
Get some decent insulation man , my heating comes on to dry the clothes
nowt else. Mind the garage is chuffing freezing may get a rad in there
to keep me poor bike warm.

Yes, the grass was white and crunch this morning, however the local
lanes were all dry so nothing to worry about riding the ZZR to work, I
did keep my eyes alert all the time though.

To be fair it was a bit nippy even in London this morning - although matters
were made somewhat worse by the pilot light blowing out on the heating
    overnight

Ok, I admit it I finally put the summer gloves away and pulled out
winter gloves this morning too. However, I'm still refusing to put the
lining back in my jacket - I'll keep that pleasure for when it get's
    really cold. brr.

LOL, actually it's the missus that has the heating on, and you're right,
    mostly to dry washing [1].

Mind you, that Scotswood Road has a fucking cold wind blowing up it!

[1] which seems to be necessary a lot due to the rain up here!

Yup, although the ride was more fun as the roads were dry too.

I had around twenty raindrops land on my windscreen while driving to
    work yesterday.
