I have a 85 Goldwing Interstate...low miles, but i left it set for a couple
years....cleaned it up and put in new gas..started right up and all is
well...except the tach does not work now....the Honda Service Manual doesnt
address anything about trouble shooting it....any ideas where to start??

Not too familiar with 'Wings` but 85 sounds old enough to have a
    cable driven tach.
If thats the case, disconnect the cable at the tach, start the engine,
see if the drive fitting spins.
(Sitting for a long time might have allowed the cable to rust, jam, &
    break.)
Fix = new cable. (Cheap but you get to disassemble half the machine to
    install the sucker.)
If its an electric tach, get out the meter and wiring diagram and
make sure the instrument is getting a signal before trying to replace
it. If it's not, you know the drill, gather your patience and your
wiring diagram, go to the source and start checking point by point.
