A group of friends [1] are intent on going to Switzerland at the end of
June for a weeks holiday. I've tried to tell them that France is much
cheaper. Head down towards Gap. Cross Switzerland as we did for the
Mugello trip. But stay in France.

What I would like to know is how the prices compare for food, drink,
petrol etc. Would it be that much more in Switzerland.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    [1] Yes I have some.

  2. Surprisingly, last tie I was in Swizzerland (skiing), I didn't find it
    much more expensive than France.

  3. Can't quite see why you would cross Switzerland to get to Gap.
Can't see why you would want to visit Gap at all.
Switzerland seemed to be as expensive as England.
    France was significantly cheaper.

  6. Cant comment about prices in Frog but I found Switzerland to be
    expensive.

    prices (in CHF) are:

1.24 for petrol (not sure whether thats a litre or a gallon)
7-8 for a half litre of beer (8.5 for english beer)
generaly a meal out is 40+

Obviously Ace will be able to compare better but he's skiing for
    another two+ weeks.

Taking an educated guess, I would say it will be a litre :)
