And the biggest fleet of unmarked traffic cars known to mankind.

I don't know why people object to fixed cameras so much really. They're
generally pretty easy to spot. The alternatives are unmarked cars and
average speed cameras, neither of which are exactly cricket in my book.

  4. I've no real gripe with either of those actually, though (illogically)
unmarked camera vans get on my wick.

Anyway, most average speed cameras are forward facing, so who GAF?

TBH I don't really have a gripe with any of them. Speed limits are a
PITA, but something of a necessary evil unless we actually train road
    users properly.

But that is a pretty old article, and I've not seen a rear-facing
average speed cam yet. All is not yet lost.

And they're being installed on the cat & fiddle this year apparently.
They'll cover a fucking huge area too, so they'll make bike riding in the
    Peak District a nightmare.

County Durham have the right idea. No fixed camera's and only one mobile cam
van. Plod oop theer prefer to use the "talk to the bikers" rather than "kick
them in the bollocks" method. It works too if the number of dead bikers (or
lack of dead bikers) is anything to go by.

Just do like shoppers and boycott Derbyshire - there are plenty of other
    decent, and longer, roads around.

That's what happens when westfield build a new shopping centre just as
we all fall into recession. Nobody wants to pay the high rates, so
effectively they've created a vacum as the big high st brands have
moved in, leaving their old stores vacant, but the smaller concerns
have stayed clear, as there's nothing to gain.

Somebody in city planning needs to be put against the wall and shot
    really.

That happened here when Touchwood was first built. Over the last few
years it's recovered and the original shops are all full again.
