    Weird enough even for me:

    http://www.der-wankelmotor.de/Motoraeder/MZ-Motorrad/mz-motorrad.html

It's in German, so here's a rough translation:

1965 MZ rotary engine prototype with 175cc chamber volume. One of
    three prototypes.

The rest of the paragraph just describes the different types of
coating they tried on the chamber surface.

TBH I had never heard of MZ doing something as technically advanced as
this - I knew about a few other rotary engined bikes like the Van Veen
or the Hercules, but I was really surprised to see MZ dabbling in this
technology as well. The license alone must've cost them a fortune in
    ES 250s and Practika cameras.

And no, I wasn't looking for rotary engined MZs, I was looking for
information on some strange Mazda-built contraption...

  2. Fascinating, even though I don't speak German.

I never knew MZ dabbled with Wankels. In 1965, too! Amazing.

Brief synopsis maybe, but no photos of the earlier versions, no hilarious
machine translations, and no use of the word "fahrtwind".

Good point, I will attempt to rectify that.
