    Why so?

The side profile of the bike is unchanged, and there's no change to the
frontal area. The fixing is through the engine mounts so they are solid
to the frame so it's not going to affect the steering like a handlebar
    mounted fairing would.

It's possible that wind may catch it a little, but no more than a
    touring fairing would.

I hope you're right, but it looks very slab sided to be honest. I cant
believe anyone needs that much luggage space on a bike, or are you the new
    Howard Marks?

Do you believe that? If you've got anything other than proper road
tyres you're going to get a nasty shock. You'll need that makeup to
    hide the tear stains.

I did try to tell him, also the weight put in those could really **** up the
handling, he can put his cockfluffer in & thats about it.

Imagine a very strong headwind, i reckon they could actually lift to front
load enough to make it bloody scary.

If you want to sell the front two panniers.....

Of course it is; but it has got me thinking "why not?".

OK, the 40 litre Givi E360s are a fairly large pannier to put there, but
I know a number of folk (like Krusty it would appear) that put fabric
bags on the engine bars, so why not a hard pannier instead, especially
if it means you can spread the weight about rather than hanging it all
    out behind the rear axle?

And after noticing that Germany has a blanket speed limit on motorcycles
towing trailers of 60kph (!), it actually seems like a more sensible way
of carrying gear if you're off camping.

Oh, and no photoshop, just cable ties.

    Because it looks silly?
39mph? Considering that here bikes seem to manage trailers just fine I'd
say that was simply anti motorcyclist

It definitely looks silly, but it might ride better. Dunno.
Seems so. I've happily towed a small trailer behind the SOBoxer and
wouldn't hesitate to do so on the Tigger, but as we might end up in
Germany I wasn't going to fanny about with a 39mph limit.

That and Watsonian Squire wanting the best part of £500 to pop on a towbar.

Maybe not if you live there (same as Spain IIRC) but it's OK to use one
there if the tow vehicle registered in a country that does allow them.
All to do with EU unification on something

Bollocks. It's a far more sensible place to put weight than hanging out
the back by the rear wheel. I did over 3k miles with a very similar
setup, only bigger expanded soft panniers on the crash bars, & it was
    absolutely fine.

I have to say That I didn't realise that the BRD had such a low limit,
but it appears that the numbers are so few that change seems unlikely.
They have been caught by a law apparently designed to limit the Mofas
    of the rural communities.

For your entertainment and that of any other future travelers to the
Vaterland I enclose a couple of links, the Satnav one was also a

Going too slow on a slip road to join an Autobahn causing traffic on the
Autobahn to slow down. They don't like people who dawdle on the Autobahn.
