    Hi,

I am a new owner of 99 SV650 and I am enjoying it.
Only the problem is the bike has not started yet and I need your advice
how to start the dead bike especially SV650.

Here is what I tried so far:
    1. I ordered the Clymer and Haynes manuals. Not arrived yet.
    2. Recharged the battery but the battery has to be replaced (if there
is specific battery you would like to recommend, I would be grateful)
    3. I jump started with a good battery
    4. Poured some good gasoline (I asked previous owner to drain the gas
for me but I did not see how he did it).
    5. It cranks up (compression is good) but nothing happened.
    6. We tried the push start but it won't help.

I have not check the spark plugs yet (the previous owner replaced the
spark plugs last week but I don't know whether it was gap properly or
he used the right spark plugs).

I have not checked the cockpet nor fuel line to test gas is actually
    flowing through the carburetor.

That is pretty much where I am standing now until the manuals arrive
    this week.

If you have a similar experience after you sat your bike for a year or
knows how to revive dead bike, please help.

Any pointer in detail and things to do will be helpful.

did you get this for nothing? You bought a bike that didn't run???? Wow!
    Hope it was real cheap.
