The clutch on my bike (sv650s) is dragging a bit when the lever is pulled
all the way in. I adjusted the clutch as per the suzuki workshop manual,
but still have the same problem. The transmission is a impossible to get
into netral without killing the engine first.

What do I need to do to fix this problem?

    thanks.

How many kms had it done?
    How old is the bike?
Have you changed the oil recently?
If I recall coreectly your clutch is bathed in the same engine oil so if
you haven't changed the oil recently then that could be a problem.
Clutch plates could be stuck thgether.
    More info required.

You may want to pose this question in a SV specific forum. Try www.svdownunder.com. Someone there is bound to have had the same problem.

Oil wan't that bad, not where near as black as the oil from my TRX after
2000km. It had been changed at 71 400 km.

Using Shell SX4. Problem existed even before the oil change.

I might just pull the clutch apart and get the steel plates sand blasted if
they look glazed, if no, I think I'll just put up with it.

and get the steel plates sand blasted

or just rub them on sandpaper, or concrete like thousands of others
do... Or just replace the lot

Friend of mine has a SV650S with similar mileage which had a similar
problems. Problem was shagged clutch cable.

    Huh ?

the job of the cable is to activate the clutch

    clutch cables break
clutch cables stretch which will mean you run out of adjustment

dragging clutch that is adjusted correctly would often mean buggered clutch
    with
    likely warped clutch plates

as conehead suggested oil first , then of course you do have it adjusted
    correctly
as in you have checked it again ??

Shit, I should have thought of the cable earlier. I adjusted the clutch
leaver until there was almost no play in the lever and checked for drag.
Low and behold, it's gone, cable obviously was stretched.. I'll have to
pick up a new cable up on the way home on monday.

    thanks.
