    heh

The SV650, the VW Beetle of bikes.

I prefer the naked version myself. I've lobbed mine down the road twice
and the only thing broken was a mirror.

Yup, im half tempted to get a naked sv650. I'd like to get the 1000, but
I can get a decent second hand 650 for £2500 and tpft for £220
(surprisingly) but second hand 1000's go for over 4 grand and the
    insurance jumps up to £800.

Theres a 1000 on bike trader 40 miles from me going for £2900 which only
has 6k miles on it, but thats too good to be true.

what use is an extra 4bhp at 12k rpm? better bottom end and mid range
    is far more usable.

At least it's not air cooled.
my faither rode straight through a bend (fixated on the wrong bit) and
into a ditch filled with type 1 hardcore and bigger the bike was
decidedly better off than him (collar bone broke).

I know you had an SV before, but assume (for no good reason) to was

The K3 model and on isn't as breezy naked as I thought it might be.
Having said that I still added a fly screen and it's good for up to 90
before the wind blast becomes troublesome.

Yes, had the faired 's' version before. Was great fun til it got
reshaped by a tank then pilfered by paddy. The only reason I was
thinking of getting a naked one was because I intend to be a bit silly
with this one. If I buy a new faired bike, Ill only end up molly
coddling it, then eventually get pissed off when I drop it. If I get a
second hand naked one then I could quite hapilly snap the mirrors off
and not really care too much.
Might encourage me to keep it under licence losing speeds then :) I
don't plan to go half way round the world with this one, It will only be
for fair weather use now that Ive got a cage.

My biggest worry is if it will suffer from old computer game sydrome.
Where you distinctly remember an old game being the most fun thing ever,
then you play it again on an emulator and realise it was actually a pile
of crap all along. If I go back to what was essentially my first bike,
am I gonna end up shattering all the fun memories. Hmmmmm.

Bandit 1200, SV1000 - have you actually seen what quotes on bigger bikes are
like rather than assuming they'll be crap?

Get a fazer the new bandit 650 is total shite slow as **** the sv handles
well but runs out of steam to soon just when you think it's getting going
the power runs out :(.I have had the fazer 600 home from the shop where i
work a couple of times it's a good bike i had 155 showing on the clock could
only get the shitty bandit up to about 133 but it was struggling. So in my
opinion the fazer would be the way to go.
P.S i have a k4 gsxr750 so none of this being down on suzuki's pish.

I like my Bandit, but it does need a few hundred spending on a
replacment gixer 750 oil cooled lump to liven things up a bit. :) On a
more serious note, you can buy and bolt on a lot of things to a 600
Bandit to pep it up a little, although as standard they're ok, much
better than the Divvy 600 imho.

Yup. £800 with £650 excess for the sv1000. which isnt the most terrible
thing in the world but when the 650 is only £220 and the bike costs half
as much, not sure if I could justify it.

Dave, sue, whatever your name is, two things.

First, that is a really silly invitation to issue around ukrm, some of
us haven't seen a woman in years, you wouldn't want to be the subject of
    our confusion I am sure.

Second, can you please stop the top posting. Feel free to insult as
many folks as you can as often and as deeply as you can but please don't
    top post.

I should warn you that the gear pedal appears to be made of cream
    cheese too, then.

Lack of plastics is a bonus, and the narrow engine doesn't touch down
when you drop it either. I was supprised to find that the radiator
made no contact with the follr wither, though it does seem to stick out
    a long way.

Nah, my duaghter bought me a Galaxians game for Christmas, and it still
    rocks..
