Don't know how 'classic' this bike is but I'm hoping someone here can help.
My mate's been given an 84 GSXR 400. It's a bit sorry from being stood
outside for a year or do but it's all there and not too bad under the grime.
Anyway we put a battery on it and it was dead, no lights, nothing. I faffed
around with the wiring for a while and found a couple of shitty connections,
one of which needed bypassing, so now we have neutral and oil lights,
winkies etc. but no starter. There are two wires which should be on the
ignition key switch, but not sure where they go, they were detached when I
first saw the bike and my mate says he didn't take them off. One is
black/white (goes to earth) the other is blue/white, don't know where that
one goes. Anyone got any ideas? Or (being hopeful here) a wiring diagram? Or
anyone know if there's any manual available for this bike, there doesn't
seem to be a Haynes one. Oh, nearly forgot, just to complicate matters, it
was imported from Cyprus some time ago...
    Hoping...

AFAIK the 400 were all grey imports so unlikely to be Haynes manual, but try
www.gsresources.com there might be something or someone there who knows more
    than I. (1)

    (1) That doesn't take much.

    <snip>
Thanks for that. We've actually got it spinning over on the button now and
got a nice juicy spark, not running yet, carbs had greenish black shit in
them and are in the process of being cleaned.
Still don't know what the spare wires are for but there's a Suzuki workshop
manual on Ebay for it so will keep an eye on that
