Has anybody done any volt ohm meter analysis of the new Suzuki
push-to-pass button? (Push the yellow button and the high beams flick
on...) I'm wondering if it is permanently tied to the low beam/ high
beam headlamp switch internally, or if would be possible to "steal"
that switch as a "push to talk" button for a two way radio system?

Anybody been there or have access to clear schematics?

    thanks,

  2. Unplug the horn button from the harness and use that for the PTT switch.

Okay, how do you go without your horn? (and no, I don't want to start
a new thread about "loud pipes save lives...")

    thanx,

Ugh. I just looked at the schematic closely, and very clearly the
push to pass and the high/low beam switch are permanently attached to
each other inside the switch assembly. There really is no way to use
the push to pass switch independently of the high/low beam switch.
Might be possible to open that puppy up, cut traces, resolder wiring
on, but no telling if that will even work. You have to be pretty
    experienced at switch internal designs.

I think I will try to design a smaller version of the Translogic
Microdisplay System 2 switch, and use a micro switch from Digikey.
check out www.kneedraggers.com/details/56-TRANS-2. Hmmm... maybe I'll
do an out of the box design, using a microswitch (hidden in a ring) or
a thumb operated momentary toggle switch oriented parallel to the
    grip...

any other ideas out there? Isn't there one bike in production today
that has "extra" buttons on the left hand switch for lap timer start?
Hayabusa, Yamaha race bike? I thought I saw one once, don't remember
    where I saw it.
