At the risk of being flamed, does anyone have any info/specs on this bike?
    top speed ins group etc?

is it worth px my Fazer 600 on a "S" for one of these on a "01" plate, my
    bike plus 1800 ?

I know the refs to "teapots" already but i actually like the styling of the
bike (flames again) so any other techie stuff would be appreciated.

I wouldn't. The Fazer is a _much_ better bike than a GSX750F - not only
will you quickly get frustrated with the lack of performance, they also
handle much worse and fall apart at the first sign of rain.

For once I am in total agreement with you. The Fazer rocks, whereas the
Suzuki rots. Performance-wise the Fazer will be the better bike too, and
easier to resell later. no-one wants GSX750Fs now, in fact no-one wanted
them when they were first released. Horrible, horrible bike.

Does that comment equally apply to the GSX600F?

Yes, I admit that I also read the subject wrong and followed up to
Steve's post, but the Fazer is the better bike.

Bugger. Yes. I was actually thinking about mentioning the 750 in the
    post, but decided not to.

ok, so i've heard all the negative stuff, thanks all,

what do you reckon the natural progression is from my Fazer 600 then as a
second bike, more sports than sports/tourer.

All depends on how much NCB you have, and age. Insurance will be a
deciding factor for most newish riders looking to trade up. I'd be
looking at ZX6Rs and CBR600s IIWY.

I put 30k on a GSX750F in two years and it is not the shit bike that others
in here are claiming. I wonder whether they have actually ridden one any
distance (suspect not). Never ridden the 600 but led to believe they're
much the same bike, but less power and perhaps not enough.

It doesn't handle as well as a Fazer. It probably won't wear as well
either. It's heavy and carries it's weight high. In its favour:

    It's cheap
It is the best protected bike I have ridden weather wise
It will tour happily all day at 120+ and I lost a whole tank of petrol
outside Lyon with it flat out (indicated 150, perhaps 140). It was
comfortable at this speed (relatively) as the fairing is so good (forget
aesthetics). If you want to cross Europe in comfort, cheaply, quickly,
with luggage, it's a great bike. And it's not a bad shit weather commuter
either. And it is cheap, a lot more metal than the Fazer. It also has a
great engine that pulls a lot harder than the Fazer and doesn't need to be
somewhere near 11pm to be at it's best.

There, I've said it now. Don't have any great allegiance, but I've ridden
enough bikes long-term to know that the GSXF does not deserve the slagging
it gets, which it gets primarily because of the expensive sports-bike
obsession of the motorcycling press in this country.

    He didn't ask about a GSX750F and...
....sweeping generalisation....might be true in many circs but would you eg
want to cross a continent on a Fazer? I'd take a GSXF any day. Have you
    ever ridden one?

From what I've read, the 750 is actually an OK bike. It's often
considered a cheap option to the VFR750 - I wouldn't say it was, but it
offers a hell of a lot for the money.

However, the 600 gets a slating from all the mags - mainly for being
desperately slow. Even a Divvy 600 is better.

Typo, as the 750 was on my mind at the time. I meant 600.

Yes, and I hated it. Slow in performance, slow in handling and the
brakes needed 3 weeks notice before they'd make faint rubbing noises
indicating an attempt at arresting progress. I have ridden both the
older Fazer, and the later one as well, and loved them. I rate the 600
Fazer as easily a far better bike than the GSX750F, let alone it's even
slower and less desireable little brother. Granted they are cheap, but
they need to be to shift the nasty lumps of quick-rot pig-iron swathed
in acres of easily broken and scratched, badly designed plastic which
never lines up again once it's been off a couple of times.

Fazer wins hands down every time.

I didn't mix the models up, I hate the GSX750F as well as the 600. I

Ged only knows what the 600 would have been like, had it been built
    down to a pauper.
