Suzuki GS125 flywheel removal

  1. Hi

I'm trying to remove the flywheel on my 1992 Suzuki GS125. I have a
27mm "universal flywheel puller for the majority of japanese
    motorbikes" however.....

I have removed the nut on the end of the crank but there is still a
black metal cone shaped thing with a thread on the oustide of it and
flats on the side so it can be gripped with an open spanner that seems
    to bolt into the flywheel.

The flywheel puller seems to be the same size as the black metal cone.
I have tried removing this by turning it both ways but it wont budge.
Should my flywheel puller bolt onto the outside of this, or should I
be able to remove it and then screw the puller into the flywheel
itself and that will lever it off?

The majority of flywheel puller i've seen haver an external thread, is
it possible the one I have need an internal thread.

Tghanks for your help, it the bike I passed my test on an I feel it
deserves to be back on the road for someone else to do their test on!

  2. Thanks for your help, unfortunately the "black cone thing" seems to be
attached to the flywheel centre and is shown in the haynes manual so
it isnt a puller left on by someone else. Unfortunately the haynes
manual is vague when it comes to explaining what to do.

Assuming that the flywheel is attached by pushing the flywheel on and
then bolting on the nut to secure it to the end of the crank, what
options do I have for removing it - Can I use a blow torch to heat it
up and a hammer to shock it free?
