    Hi Everyone
    I hope someone can help.
My 1992 Suzuki GN250 have a problem no power.
It starts no problem rev up and idle with no issues, but the problem starts when I put it in gear and try to pull away.
When I try to pull away it starts sputtering and wants to die as if it does not have any power.
I open the carburettor, clean out all the jets set the float level as per manual, check the diaphragm no hole.
check for air leaks by spraying carburettor cleaner around the carburettor when it is idling no air leaks.
new air filter, tested CDI all ok, tested pickup coil all values according to manual.
I also installed a new spark plug and new fuel.
I tried to set the valve clearance according to the manual and I think I done it correctly when bike was cold and on the Compression stroke.
So I am at a loss can someone please help? I am out of options.

    Regards

    Johannes

    Hi,
    Yes I sorted my problem.
I found that my chain rubbed through my kick stand cable ( Side Stand Cable) so when I start the motor bike everything was ok. The problem started when I start riding, so what happen was the chain rubbed against the side stand cable that is why it was sputtering when riding.
So when your bike is running with the side stand out and you put the bike in gear it will shut the bike engine of, that is a safety feature.
That why it was sputtering when I was riding because the chain made the connection on the side stand cable so it want to stop the engine every time the chain touched the cable.
I fixed the cable and everything working properly now. Hope this help
    Regards
