Suzuki G250 carb

Discussion in 'Motorbike Technical Discussion' started by The Older Gentleman, Jan 31, 2010.

  1. All the symptoms of pilot jet trouble: started instantly on the choke,
was a real bugger until it had got nice and hot, erratic tickover, would
only tick over when hot, and then if you sort of nursed the revs gently
and let it settle down before removing your hand from the twistgrip.

So today: carb off bike, all jets, float, needle valve, etc removed,
loads of carb cleaner and high pressure air blasted everywhere. There
did seem to be a bit more light showing at the end of the pilot jet
after the treatment. Everything inside the carb was as clean as a
    whistle, mind. No gunge anywhere.

And then, the killer punch: checking the pilot screw setting. Yup,
someone had wound it out to at least three turns. Set it to a turn and
three-quarters and behold! Nice starting, lovely even tickover, sweet
    pick-up from idle.

All done on the kitchen table because the garage is freezing cold. It's
lovely when it all goes back together tna dhte thing just works as it
    should do.

Naw, she snores, now the pig? Ah, the pig...she might eat a bit much
and she's bit of a mess at times but at least she doesn't snore.

It seems that "The Older Gentleman" was able to get his panties
unknotted quickly, so he didn't continue this self-serving and
    irrelevant thread for 90~100 posts.

    But it can be resurrected...
What did Krusty ever do to you? He stays in ukrm and doesn't bother
    anybody...

gee shit head considering YOU are Krusty Kritter the zoophile,
chickenhawk and the singularly most unknowledgeable person about
motorcycles on the planet...your bit of disingenious bullshit is
    unsurprising.
