    Bike: Suzuki Bandit 600s 1997

    Problem:
The engine starts promptly and warms up nicely and stays on even after
the choke is disengaged, yet the engine dies as soon as I throttle.
    History:
As you can guess the tank was left with fuel during a long 6+ month
storage. But the fact is gas preserve additive was added before
    leaving it like that.

    Solution:
Take it to a mechanic who is going to charge me 300+. I am sure the
price is "resonable" from their perspective, but I really dont want to
    spend that much.

    OR

Fix it myself. I am not a mechanic, but I try playing around with the
carb. Any hints/tips, carb cleaners, advise or links on how to do that
is will be of great help. The more details the merrier!
    TIA
