I did genuinely choke on the coffee when I turned over to page 126 of
this months Classic bike. TOG staring out at me and the XS650 he just
    sold on review.

Splendid, fair made my day that man, John's too. BTW I am hoping it will
entice him back out 1st time in 10 years since the pacemaker install.

Don't fret, it will be well cared for, you can come ride it anytime and
you have first dibs when the world turns. By that time it should be
electric blue, supercharged, twin AP Racing brakes and BT014's on
    Dymags...

    Seriously, it looks spanking gorgeous.

It is. The bitter irony is that just after you booked your flight
tickets (like at 6pm on Thursday evening) I was phoned up and a lump of
freelance work was dumped in my lap, which would have paid for the
Triumph repairs. If you hadn't already shelled out for your tickets,
I'd have welched on the deal. Seriously.

Bollocks. Oh well, I turned a nice profit on the deal, and it actually
leaves me some change to go out and buy another SOB (the Garage Vacuum
must be filled). I just doubt whether I will ever find another XS650 as
good as this one. Spanking gorgeous it is, yes.

AOL. It rides as nice as it looks and if I had any space in the garage
that wasn't taken up by another Japanese parallel twin Hog wouldn't
have had a chance to buy it...

    <wonders if that's a recommendation>

Well, I'm supposed to see a car in Hampshire in the morning so I may
    well make it...

I'll give TOG a call before I set off from there...

Why on earth would something like an XS650 grace the pages of Classic
Bike magazine?..................Mortons really are scraping the bottom
    of the barrel......!

Maybe we will be seeing features on RD250's and Superdreams before
    long................lol

In common with that prick TOG, perhaps you actually think XS650's,
RD's, and similiar shite, actually are classic bikes? Maybe this stems
from the fact that not one of you could ever hope to afford a real
classic, let alone be a good enough engineer to restore, or rebuild
    one!

Merriam-Webster gives five definitions of 'classic', two of which are
"serving as a standard of excellence: of recognized value" and
"historically memorable". RDs certainly fit those criteria far better
than most old Brit bikes, which is presumably what you think are
classics. It may not be *your* definition of 'classic' in this context,
which is fine. But most people are somewhat less narrow-minded than you
    (thank ****).

I really dont give a shit as what the dictionary definition is of the
word "classic"...........these type of bikes are not classic, no matter
how much those that own them might want to witter on!

Its amusing that you refer to me as a wanker, yet have a list of bikes
at the end of your post, that indicates for certain that the term could
    be better applied to you!

They're classics according to the dictionary definition, they're
classics according to the classic bike press, & they're classics
according to most of the people who post here. But I'm sure you'll
continue to maintain that your opinion's correct & everybody else is
    wrong.

Thing is no one who is involved with real classic bikes, would agree
with you! If by the "Classic Bike Press" you mean Mortons, I think that
really does speak for itself doesnt it................lol

Unlike most on here I have owned a very wide variesty of different
bikes, and actually worked in the motorcycle trade, when the old shite
you lot see as "classics" were new bikes! Personally I would see
several Japanese bikes as real classics, but things like RD's and
XS650's no way.................this sort of stuff just doesnt have what
    it takes!
