With all the noise for the past few days.. posts and responses every few
    minutes.. what's going on ?

On a more positive note.. I finally dropped all that old trip oil out of the
crankcase on the Green One.. If I'd seen it before I pulled the plug, I
might have decided to just ride that sucker for a while longer.. LOL... Oil
changes are cheap maintenance, anyway.. so I probably did the right thing..
I didn't change the filter on this one so I've got one more oil and filter
change before I go back in July..

Figured I'd find some scrapes left by those mexican Topes around the frame
and bottom of the pan, but there weren't any.. <grin> No one can imagine
that little lift until they've tried one..

Good to see JailCall back again.. dang.. he's been away for a while.. hmmm..

Took the Green Machine out for a little spin, after the oil change, and
chain lube.. sweet.. sweet.. Stopped by Sammy White's over here and kinda
looked around for another tool bag for the forks.. As usual .. Sammy White
isn't much interested in anything but the police motorcycles, he sells..
That's his bread and butter in the motorcycle business, but it don't do much
for all us other guys that like to tinker with our motorcycles.. lol.. A
lot of folks claim the dealers don't commence to make money on us until
after the sale of the bike, anyway.. Regards

I lucked out last summer. I found a box of 12 brand new oil filters at a
garage sale. They were still in the individual genuine Suzuki parts blister
packs. The lady only wanted $5.00 for the bunch of them. Having so many
'spares', I change the filter ever time I change the oil. I think most of us
have gotten into the habit of changing the oil way too often, but like you
    said, it's cheap maintainance.

Isn't it amazing how nice they seem to run right after we work on them?
Even something as simple as a good wash and wax can renew some of the 'new
bike' feel to them (and that's no small feat concidering mine is 26 years
    old, lol).

We've got a place called Pattullo's Motor Sports up here. The wife used to
work there. It's a family run place that used to sell new bikes (Suzuki),
but now only has a few used and 'consignment' bikes for sale. He makes a
good living servicing motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, atv's and those
little watercrafts. Most times if he hasn't got what you need, it's only a
day or two before he can get it in. It's also a great place to just 'visit',
the old man is quite pleasent, and always willing to share his rather
    'checkered' past, lol.

Would that be the shop just up the hill on the Surrey side of the
Bridge? If it is, I bought a Honda 500-4 from them back in the mid
    seventies.

    Don,

Not too many hills in this part of the country, Don. I'm located in the
'thumb' of Michigan's lower pennincilla. A little town (village) called
Caro. It's mostly farm land, with lots of state property, which are lowlands
and consist of woods and cedar swamps.

Pattullo's is located on Tomlinson road, east of town, about 1/3 the way
to Cass City. Back in the 70's he was a Suzuki dealer. It's quite posible he
might have had a used Honda on the floor though. There used to be a Honda
dealer in closer to town, Caro Honda, but he's long since gone out of
    business.

I think perhaps we might be talking about more then one Pattullo's Motor
Sports, lol. You wouldn't think so with a name like that though. Oh, and by
the way, what is ' the Surrey of a bridge'? I'm guessing it's a town, but if
it's not, maybe you'd take a moment and explain the phrase?

    Regards,

    Vic

    Don,

The line: ...... Oh, and by the way, what is ' the Surrey of a bridge'?

Should have read:..... Oh, and by the way, what is ' the Surrey side of a
    bridge'?

    Sorry for the confussion,

Sorry Vic. Had a brain fart there and got you confused with one of the
    Reeky posters.

The Pattullo bridge runs from New Westminster to Surrey in British
Columbia Canada. Just a little way from your corner of the world.

Topes are exaggerated speed bumps.. Especially in the smaller towns, they
are situated on the streets and highways to slow passing traffic.. They damn
sure do the job.. Some of those things are a foot high in the center and
sloped to either side allowing vehicles to pass over, but sharp enough to
cause that vehicle to be airborne if they are crossed too fast.. They will
cause a low slung tourer or cruiser to drag center..
Sammy White is the Irving Kawasaki dealer.. Over a period of something like
40 years that I know about, Sammy White has bid and secured contracts with
many of the municipal Police Depts. in Texas.. to build out and provide the
    motorcycles they ride..
Any product that has to do with a motorcycle will usually be overpriced..
    Mexico is not for everyone..
