It looks like they're not selling very well. Yamaha have just sent me
(as an already experienced Tenere owner) a very nice letter telling me
how good the Super Tenere is and informing me that Yamaha are giving
away £1600 worth of extras with the bike if you buy new in May.

That's great but nearly a grand of that is for the pannier set and they
aren't really very good. Try dropping the price of the basic bike and
they might sell a few more.

Don't hold your breath. £1600 worth of extras at full RRP probably
equates to something like £100 to them at cost.

There's one down at Bradford Motorcycles, the panniers look shite, made with
    plastic corners and levers.

The bike is a big ****, too.

Maybe a little bit more than that but certainly not enough for them to
drop the price to a level where more people would consider buying one.

I'm tempted to try and blag a test ride on one to try out the traction
    control on a wet road.

Not sure how they got my address as the last yamaha I bought new was
    in 1973 (FS1E)

Its starting weight is heavier than then pegs were when fully laden.
